Alan R. Gessel - Chief Executive Officer
As CEO of Thrive Frozen Nutrition, Alan leads and directs strategic sales and marketing, product development, communications, and client relations for all lines of business: health care, sports nutrition and retail. He has more than 20 years of executive leadership experience in the food and nutrition services industry where he has built high performance teams, fast tracked business growth and elevated the customer/patient experience. He has held senior executive positions with industry leading management companies in hospital, seniors and higher education markets. Most recently, Alan was national vice president of Sales for Sodexo Seniors, and prior to that he was executive vice president of Healthcare for AVI Foodsystems, regional vice president for Sodexo Education, and region vice president with Aramark Healthcare. Alan is a past member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. A graduate of Morehead State University, has completed numerous executive, strategic and international leadership development programs.
Bob Wengert - Chief Financial Officer & Chief Operating Officer
Bob has focused his career on financial management with major corporations and early growth companies. Prior to joining Thrive Ice Cream, he served as CFO of plant/supply chain operations at Sensible Portions and finance manager at Johnson & Johnson. Bob also served as CFO of Keen Marketing & Manufacturing, which consults and invests in early-growth companies.
Jeff Holtz - VP Innovation & Quality Assurance
Jeff has more than two decades of experience in ice cream formulations, product and flavor development. He is the mastermind behind our delicious family of nutrition-packed ice creams and is constantly testing new flavors and formulations! Prior to Joining Thrive Ice Cream, he served as director of research and development for Yarnell Ice Cream Company.
Chuck Richie – Vice President Sales
As Thrive’s vice president of Sales, Chuck directs business development for our health care and retail markets. Chuck has more than 30 years of experience working with various consumer products companies managing business portfolios that included both branded and private label products within various retail categories. For the last 20 years, he served as director of Sales, managing sales teams with responsibility for key customers in all classes of trade. Chuck is a graduate of Cornell University and a United States Air Force veteran where he served as a Security Police Dog Handler.
Melanie Lux - VP Marketing
Melanie has more than 20 years experience in packaging/consumer products and health care marketing, public relations and social media with companies that include Sonoco, a global packaging company and their customers that include Kraft Foods, P&G, General Mills, Gillette, and others; SOPAKCO, world’s largest producer of MREs; PaizaBio; numerous health systems, medical schools and hospital associations. Melanie has worked with numerous early growth startup companies in health care, agribusiness, and information technology on branding, messaging and marketing.
