Thrive Ice Cream strives to maintain a small carbon footprint by minimizing our packaging, using recycled packaging materials where possible and sourcing recyclable packaging materials for our consumer packaging. For example, our corrugated cardboard cases and shipping trays contain 36% recycled paper and are 100% recyclable. All of our paperboard packaging comes from companies that are Sustainable Forestry Initiative certified. Our six-ounce cups are made from polypropylene, which is 100% recyclable. Our paperboard pint cups and lids are made from 100% recyclable paperboard and can be recycled. The lid utilizes a patented technology to lock the lid to the container without any additional heat, materials or energy. This process decreases the need for additional heat seals, tamper bands or additional packaging materials, thus reducing the carbon footprint, while maintaining consumer safety. The LDPE lid skirt is also recyclable in areas where programs exist.
